India’s little citizens join the Billion Hearts Beating Campaign, inspired by Cine Star Suriya on the occasion of the first birthday of Apollo Children’s Hospital, Chennai.

At a special event organized on Apollo Children’s Hospitals First Birthday and inspired by Cine Star Suriya, young children joined the Billion Hearts Beating Campaign and made a promise to keep themselves, their family and thereby India heart healthy. Adult Male from Peshawar, Pakistan, ailing with Parkinson’s disease treated successfully using the innovative ‘Deep Brain Stimulation’ surgical procedure at Apollo Speciality Hospital, Chennai

Mr. Mohd Arif from Pakistan, ailing with Parkinson’s disease was treated successfully using the ‘Deep Brain Stimulation’ (DBS) Procedure, at Apollo Speciality Hospital, Chennai. The patient was diagnosed with Parkinsonism in Pakistan many years ago and despite extensive treatment, his condition had been deteriorating with severe disability in walking and stiffness even on high doses of medication. This situation made him a candidate for surgical treatment offered for Parkinsonism, which is subthalamic nucleus (STN) Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). After DBS Surgery, Mr. Arif has experienced tremendous reduction in body stiffness and is even able to walk up the stair case. He also feels to have got back his normal appetite, better sleep & has gained good urinary control.

Over the years, we used metallic stents and medicated stents and we further advanced in the recent past to doing many refined procedures like Multi-Vessel Angioplasty, Left Main Angioplasty and Bifurcation Lesions. First refresher course for nurses in “Pediatric Critical Care” conducted by Apollo Children’s Hospital Chennai.

The first “Pediatric Critical Care” refresher course was conducted by Apollo Children’s Hospital for Nurses. Various hospitals across Chennai and Southern Indian States were invited for this refresher course for nurses. There was an overwhelming response and more than 100 delegates registered for the program. The ‘Apollo Knee Clinic’ launched at Apollo Hospitals Chennai

The Apollo Knee Clinic will work from 5- 8 PM from Monday through Saturday at the Sindoori Block of the Apollo Main Hospital at Greams Road and at the Apollo Speciality Hospital Teynampet. The timings have been planned to enable individuals to consult with the best of Apollo Knee Specialists post working hours in a relaxed atmosphere.

A first-of-its-kind initiative, the specialized Apollo Knee Clinic will be managed by a team of orthopaedic professionals who have been exclusively trained to treat patients suffering from moderate to severe knee pain. The knee clinic will be operational at the Apollo Hospitals at Greams Road, Apollo Specialty Hospital at the Mount Road and the Apollo First Med Hospital at the Poonamalee High Road. The Apollo knee clinics will also be run at the Apollo Clinics at T Nagar, Annanagar and Koturpuram.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Prathap C Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, said, “Apollo Knee Clinic offers a complete resolution for knee pain.
